Back to Seoul

We had an amazing trip back to Seoul☺ Here is a quick video for the short version, featuring Gyeongbok Palace and our trip to the Han River: Checking for our track number at Osong Station We left Saturday morning, arriving in Seoul just before lunch time. Unfortunately it rained for most of the afternoon, but we made the best of it by window shopping at Namdaemun market and the DDP (things we had enjoyed doing on our first trip). Not only was it really big, there were a ton of people here. Many were dressed in traditional clothes, called Hanbok, and were posing at every blooming tree and painted column. Spring/Jochiwon Cherry Blossom Festival

We've been told that spring in Korea is short and sweet. Followed by a long, hot, humid summer. Spring is also known for having really terrible air quality, fine yellow dust particles, which blow over from Mongolia/China. Cue children, elderly, and everyone in between wearing face masks. Taking the scenic route to the grocery store ☺ On the plus side, the temperature has been nicely hanging around 60 F, with lows in the high 30s-40s and highs in the 70s. It's been a nice change of pace from the chilly winter. There is still a lot of wind, and rain, but actually the rain helps to improve air quality so it's actually a good thing. So, about ten or so days ago we saw a glimpse of our first cherry blossoms right in front of our apartment. I was really excited. Although the trees in Sejong are quite small, there are a lot of them that have been planted and over the course of the following week they all began to bloom.
